The Concept of System Interoperability

A PFMIS cannot operate in isolation. To provide comprehensive economic monitoring, it must interface seamlessly with other critical IT platforms across the public administration through secure Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
Primary External System Interfaces
  • Tax and Revenue Administration Platforms (e.g., iTax): Feeds real-time tax collection metadata into the PFMIS Cash Management module, giving the Treasury an accurate view of daily revenue inflows.
  • Central Bank Core Banking Systems: Connects the PFMIS directly to the Treasury Single Account (TSA) network to process electronic payments and reconcile bank balances automatically at the close of every business day.
  • Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) and Payroll Platforms: Validates payroll data against employee records before authorizing salary transfers, eliminating manual payment processing.
  • Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) Portals: Verifies that budget funds are available and committed within the PFMIS before a public tender can be advertised on the procurement portal.
