The Certificate in Retail Banking is a globally oriented programme designed to prepare learners for careers in retail banking, branch banking, digital banking, customer relationship management, payments, consumer credit and financial services.
The programme focuses on the complete retail-banking customer journey—from customer acquisition and account opening to deposits, payments, cards, digital banking, consumer lending, financial advice, complaints management and customer retention.
The curriculum is designed around internationally recognised principles and practices, drawing particularly on the Basel Core Principles, European Banking Authority approaches to consumer protection and payment services, and U.S. and international retail-banking practices.
The Basel Core Principles provide a universally applicable foundation for banking regulation, supervision, governance and risk management. The EBA’s retail-banking remit specifically covers products such as mortgages, consumer credit, payment accounts, payment services, electronic money and deposits, making these important areas for a globally relevant retail-banking curriculum.
